SCOTTISH EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT ALCOHOL AUDIT (SEDAA): LAUNCH OF THE UNDERSTANDING ALCOHOL MISUSE IN SCOTLAND: HARMFUL DRINKING: FINAL REPORT
NHS Quality Improvement Scotland has completed a 3-year programme of work to look at alcohol-related attendances to mainland emergency departments in Scotland. A series of five time-limited audits were devised and conducted on behalf of the SEDAA project steering group by the Scottish Trauma Audit Group (STAG). Copies of the findings are now available from the download section of the NHS QIS mental health website.
The final stage of the project was completed in March 2008 with the production of a sixth and final report. The report summarises the findings of all five audits. Examples of good practice are highlighted and recommendations for further work and services improvements are made. These were presented at the formal launch of the report on Thursday 15 May 2008 at NHS Quality Improvement Scotland, Elliott House, Edinburgh.
