PROJECT UPDATE - AUTUMN 2008
Stage one of the agreed work is commencing initially with a profiling exercise of current IPCU activity across Scotland (e.g. composition, number of beds, male/female ratio, referral pathways, etc).
In conjunction with an NHS QIS mental health advisor, a series of NHS board-level questions are now being devised. These will be presented to the project steering group for discussion and sign-off at its November meeting.
Stage two will be informed largely by the results of the profiling exercise. Given the anticipated inconsistencies and variations between each of the units, however, this may include standards setting and assessments.
