Risk management report for NHSScotland released

NHS Quality Improvement Scotland - Risk Management Report (PDF, 173K, 45 secs)

This report presents the findings of a project commissioned by NHS Quality Improvement Scotland (NHS QIS) to explore current risk management practice across NHSScotland; to identify and examine variations in practice and to consider how these issues could be effectively addressed whilst meeting the needs of stakeholders. The findings of this report will be presented to NHS QIS to enable the development of an action plan in response.

The project was split into two stages. Stage one sought to identify current risk management practice using an anonymous questionnaire which asked a number of structured questions and gave recipients the opportunity to express general comments about risk management. Stage two comprised a series of three workshops for risk managers aimed at examining the key issues identified by the questionnaires and to give participants the opportunity to exchange views and share best practice.
