Final Standards Document
The Provision of Safe and Effective Primary Medical Services Out-of-Hours (PDF, 256K, 1.07 mins)
About the Standards Document
This document introduces the NHS Quality Improvement Scotland (NHS QIS) Standards for The Provision of Safe and Effective Primary Medical Services Out-of-Hours.
These standards cover three key elements of the service:
- Accessibility and Availability at First Point of Contact
- Safe and Effective Care
- Audit, Monitoring and Reporting.
Putting in place arrangements to meet these standards will support the development of safe and effective out-of-hours services across Scotland. Monitoring performance against the standards will promote the sharing of good practice and will also help to address more challenging aspects of this service.
