NHS Quality Improvement Scotland is committed to developing the knowledge, skills, experience, understanding and attitudes of staff to meet the changing needs of a high-performance organisation.
We regard learning and development as an important investment for the organisation, which will both support the delivery of corporate objectives and support staff to meet their personal goals, as well as realising their potential. Every member of staff is involved in identifying and agreeing their learning objectives through discussions with their line manager, and individuals have a responsibility for ensuring their needs are met with the encouragement, guidance and support of their line manager, their team and the Human Resources Unit.
We encourage people to take a broad view of learning and development, seeing it as part of regular day-to-day activity, accessing a range of methods to enable their own learning and development, and sharing knowledge and experience to support the development of others.
