Healthcare Services Used by Older People in NHSScotland - Report on the Consultation on the Draft Standards and Proposed Peer Review Process (PDF, 212K, 56 secs)

In order to reflect the complex and varying needs of older people, NHS Quality Improvement Scotland (NHS QIS) used a number of different approaches to consult on the draft standards. These consultation events, detailed in Appendix 1, were carried out across Scotland and involved patients, carers, members of the public and professionals who provide services for older people. The detailed feedback received from all these events is currently being used by the Working Group to inform the revision of the draft standards.

It was agreed that it would be valuable to publish a summary report of the feedback received during the two open meetings held in Dundee and Stirling, during May and June 2004, to allow those who attended the open meetings, and those individuals interested in older people?s services, to reflect on what was raised at these meetings.

The report should be read in conjunction with the Draft Standards for Healthcare Services Used by Older People in NHSScotland and the Consultation Paper on a Proposed Peer Review Process for Assessment of Performance against the Draft Standards for Healthcare Services Used by Older People in NHSScotland, both published in May 2004.
