Mental Health Strategic Work Programme

Improving the quality of mental health services in Scotland - A strategic work programme 2005 2008 (PDF, 190K, 54 secs)

About the Work Programme

The aim of the Mental Health Strategic Work Programme is to:

  • Weave together previous initiatives by NHS QIS component organisations
  • Learn from experience of previous NHS QIS initiatives in mental health
  • Adopt a 'quality improvement' approach which will help mental health services in the implementation of the Mental Health (Care & Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003
  • Focus on outcomes for individual users, building on the results of an audit project supported by NHS QIS
  • Develop an information culture where up to date information is appropriately shared and based on a common data set
  • Accredit the development of locally agreed Integrated Care Pathways.
