Refreshing the NHS QIS patient and public partnership a reform agenda
The above consultation paper was launched at the conference for Public Partners on 25 May and was widely circulated thereafter. From initial feedback I know that some of you have had time to read it through and begin to digest the outline proposals contained in the paper. These focus on improving the systems for recruitment, retention, support and deployment of the public as partners in the work of NHS Quality Improvement Scotland, both to meet the changing needs of the organisation and to keep pace with wider developments across NHSScotland as a whole.
We have now made arrangements for six meetings at venues in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Inverness further details and a booking form are attached. These events will offer Public Partners the chance to participate in face to face discussion and debate in small groups (up to 15 in each group). They are an opportunity for you to shape the partnership between NHS QIS and the people who work with us now and in the future. Please do try to come along to one of the meetings and take part in the debate with your colleague Public Partners.
As group size is restricted we will offer places at the meetings on a first come, first served basis so please reply early to ensure your first choice of meeting, but in any case no later than Friday 24 June. If demand exceeds supply we will make every effort to arrange further meetings at suitable locations in late August. Please do remember that we also welcome your individual response whether you attend a group or not.
