About the Practice Development Network for Allied Health Professions - Prosthetics and Orthotics
Mission Statement
The purpose of the practice development network for allied health professions - prosthetics and orthotics is to develop a communication and resource network for the P&O community to improve the quality of patient care.
Objectives
The practice development network for allied health professions - prosthetics and orthotics have agreed short and long term aims.
Aims of the Network:
- To establish a regional Practice Development Network for the Prosthetic and Orthotic professions
- To centralise information information related to practice development from regional networks and establish a national database of practice development projects in order to facilitate sharing of good practice
- Identify resources and training required to support the network
- Identify key priorities for the network
- To provide regular feedback to clinicians on current practice development issues via local representatives, local network meetings, regular newsletters and the website
- To promote the awareness of the practice development network for allied health professions - prosthetics and orthotics issues by developing links between the Network, Professional Bodies, HEIs, Users and other relevant stakeholders
- To encourage collaborative working with other professions including medicine, nursing and the Allied Health Professions
