Valuing Radiography in Scotland Event - 23rd September 2006
Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh
Over 80 radiographers, working in Scotland, attended a collaborative radiography event on 23rd September 2006 in Edinburgh. This conference was organised and supported by the Scottish Council for Radiography, NHS Quality Improvement Scotland, NHS Education and the Scottish Executive Health Department.
The day provided an excellent opportunity to share good practice, debate radiography issues and network with colleagues. The opportunities for radiographers in engaging with clinical effectiveness, role development, career progression and the policy agenda were all highlighted in the morning presentations.
Jacqui Lunday, Chief Health Professions Officer, said radiographers are now firmly on the map and have never before had such opportunity to make a difference to patients in Scotland .

AHP Clinical Effectiveness Forum Annual Symposium - 30th October 2006
The AHP Clinical Effectiveness Forum annual symposium took place on Monday 30th October 2006, 12.30pm 4.30pm, in the Alexander Fleming Education Centre of Crosshouse Hospital.
It consisted of short presentations of local clinical effectiveness initiatives and poster presentations.
It is aimed at all AHPs but any other health professionals were welcome to attend. For more information about this event, please contact Diane.graham@aaaht.scot.nhs.uk or Crosshouse Hospital on extension 2882.

Purpose
The stakeholder events in 2006 will replace the regional representative meetings held in March 2005 at Inchyra. The focus will be on:
- Action plans for the year ahead
- Review of the networks
- Clinical priorities arising from the Topic Specific Groups and potential future planning
CE Chairs, Regional representatives, Topic Specific Group members and key stakeholders (including policy officers, Chair of profession, Clinical Effectiveness/CPD lead for your profession) were invited to attend.
