A small number of patients are treated for alcohol detoxification in an inpatient setting. However, there has been recent media interest in the use of increased inpatient resources to treat this patient group. Evidence is required to better identify the balance needed between community and inpatient services to treat this group of patients.
The Evidence Note
The intention of this evidence note is to act as a tool to better inform planners of the existing evidence regarding the technology of interest to support their investment/disinvestment decision making, thus complementing their discussions with clinicians, manufacturers and other professionals.
