Enquiries and complaints

Freedom of Information

NHS QIS receives requests for information on a daily basis and we deal with most of these under our normal day-to-day practices, usually within 24 hours. Requests for information that cannot be readily accessed or is not made available to the public as standard practice are dealt with as Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.

From April 2006 until April 2007, a total of 16 requests were made under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. Responses were made within the required time frame of 20 working days, as outlined in the Act, excepting two instances where an extended response time was discussed and agreed because of the number of items involved.

If you wish to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act, then please put your request in writing, either by email or letter.
